"introduction": "Off-grid solar energy is a solution that may make electricity available very fast for the over 1 mrd people living without access to electricity at home. In this lecture, Trygve Mongstad will share his experience from Malawi, where he worked for one year as a solar energy entrepreneur through a project funded by FK Norway and the Norwegian Department of Foreign Affairs.\n",
"text": "Large cost reductions over the last years have made solar energy technology more available, and it is spreading fast to households and small businesses in off-grid regions all over the world.\\n\\nTrygve Mongstad's job was to establish a solar energy company – a social enterprise owned by a local non-profit organisation. Over the year, the enterprise grew, a solar shop was opened and several strategies to reach out to local households with affordable energy solutions were tested.\\n\\nIn this lecture, Mongstad will elaborate on his experience, and shed light on the technical and the social challenges related to introducing solar electricity to those living in “energy poverty”.\\n\\nMongstad normally works as a researcher for Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) and has a PhD degree in physics from the University of Oslo.\\n\\nThe event will be streamed\\n\\nEvent at Facebook\\n\\n \\n\\nReceive newsletter about upcoming events at the Science Library\\n\\n(https:\/\/sympa.uio.no\/ub.uio.no\/subscribe\/realfagsbiblioteket-nyhetsbrev)",
