In October 2024, the interdisciplinary, student-led iGEM team from UiO won a gold medal in the international iGEM competition in Paris for their innovative health monitoring project, DetectiMOL.

The iGEM (International Genetically Engineered Machine) competition is an annual, worldwide event where student teams tackle global challenges using synthetic biology. The UiO team has the opportunity to use their creativity and problem-solving skills in combination with community cooperation for this student-run project.

Throughout the iGEM year, the UiO team engages in a research-oriented and innovation-promoting environment. All master's students at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at UiO are encouraged to participate in this initiative. Participation in an iGEM team at the University of Oslo is organized as a 10-credit subject at master's level.

Coffee/tea and cake are served. Everyone is welcome!

The lecture is in English, and will be streamed. You can watch the stream at Realfagsbiblioteket YouTube-channel.
